German Three-Team Tournament

German Bundesliga Final: 1990

Teams comprise seven riders including a non-programmed reserve. Team A wears red and blue helmet colours and is numbered 1 to 6 and 19, Team B wears yellow/black and green helmet colours and is numbered 7 to 12 and 20, whilst Team C wears white and black/white helmet colours and is numbered 13 to 18 and 21. The reserves take Nos. 19 to 21, and there are no restrictions on who may ride in these positions.

The heat format is determined as follows:

Heat Gate A Gate B Gate C Gate D Gate E Gate F
1: 5 11 17 6 12 18
2: 15 3 9 16 4 10

10: Lowest Red Y/B B/W Blue Green White
11: Middle B/W Red Y/B White Blue Green
12: Highest Y/B B/W Red Green White Blue

Riders take the starting gate positions indicated. Gate A is on the inside of the track, whilst Gate F is on the outside.

A reserve may have a maximum of four rides that can be taken at any time. All exclusions count towards the maximum number of rides.

No rider is required to take a minimum number of rides.

After Heat 9, each team nominates their riders for the three remaining heats. Rider Nos. 1 to 18 may only be nominated as follows: Heat 10 - two lowest scorers, Heat 11 - two middle scorers, Heat 12 - two highest scorers. The scores from all rides are counted, but bonus points are not included. Team members scoring an equal number of points may be nominated for any heat where they are eligible.

Race points scored over all heats are used to determine the final placings. Where two or more teams are tied for a place, each team nominates a rider for a runoff.
