Danish Open League Match

Danish Open League: 2001

Matches comprise three teams of six riders who are numbered 1 to 6. The two riders with the lowest averages are the reserves and must be programmed at Nos. 5 and 6 (in any order).

Team A wears red and blue helmet colours, Team B wears white and yellow/black helmet colours, whilst Team C wears green and black/white helmet colours.

The heat format is determined as follows:

16: Super Final Round 3rd * 1st * 3rd * 1st *
17: Super Final Round 2nd * 3rd * 2nd * 3rd *
18: Super Final Round 1st * 2nd * 1st * 2nd *

Riders take the starting gate positions indicated. Gate A is on the inside of the track, whilst Gate D is on the outside.

A rider touching the tapes must restart the heat with one hand on their helmet until the starting gate is released. A rider committing any other starting infringement is excluded from the heat and may be replaced by a reserve.

Each reserve may have a maximum of six rides that can be taken at any time. They may not however, replace riders excluded for exceeding the two minute time allowance. All exclusions count towards the maximum number of rides.

No rider is required to take a minimum number of rides.

In Heats 5 to 7, 9 to 11 and 13 to 15, a third-placed team that is six or more points behind the second-placed team at the end of Heats 3, 6, 9 and 12, may substitute a rider in their next heat with any other rider in the team. Each rider however, may only be used as a tactical substitute once. A substitute rider takes the helmet colour and starting gate position of the replaced rider. Both riders in a heat may be substituted in this manner, provided the Referee is clearly notified which substitute replaces which rider.

After Heat 15, teams are ranked in scoring order to determine the lineups for the Super Final Round. Each team must nominate two riders for each of their two heats; which must include three of the top four riders, and one of the reserves.

Race points scored over all heats are used to determine the final team placings. Where two or more teams are tied for a place, each team nominates a rider for a runoff.
